After listening to the Donner Party season and then actually reading “The Indifferent Stars Above,” I realized just how historically inaccurate this show is. They really do straight up invent details and heavily exaggerate for dramatic effect, when they don't need to at all. Hugely disappointing.
Mike and Cassie do such a great job telling these amazing stories. I appreciate the research that goes into each series and find the luck, psychology and resourcefulness of each story so fascinating. I do often ponder what i’d do in similar circumstances, and how those around me would react, which is very entertaining. Thanks so much to everyone involved.
I have been listening to this podcast via Apple Podcasts and Wondery. I forked up for Wondery plus to get the podcast as well as a few others without super annoying ads, then Bezos bought and completely gutted Wondery. Now I need to listen via Audible to get the same podcast without ads, but while the latest episode has been available for a few days in Apple podcasts, it still doesn’t even show up here. Once again, Bezos buys and destroys.
This was the best podcast series I've ever listened to. I felt like I was listening to a movie instead of a story. I binge listened to every single episode in just a few days. I also learned historical things I'd never heard before. There are stories I've heard dozens of times elsewhere, I was concerned I'd be bored, but I was drawn in!
