I have to turn down the volume whenever the guy is speaking because he’s a dope. But Joanna really knows her stuff and understands the deeper meanings and plot devices that her co-host doesn’t seem to grasp. He adds zero value to this podcast.
The recaps are always on point and David Chen is well-versed in filmmaking. Love the pod!
Fort time watching game of thrones and nice to have had a spoiler free podcast to follow along. That being said I’m not sure this guy likes this show at all and is terribly annoying.
I’m obsessed with Joanna Robinson, I find her to be the best podcaster working today. The show offers in-depth, spoiler-conscious discussions of fantasy television, with a steady focus on plot developments, character dynamics, and underlying themes from the latest episodes. Hosts balance sharp analysis of storytelling, production choices, and source material influences, while also weaving in commentary on the broader TV/media landscape. The tone mixes enthusiasm with rigorous critique, and episodes often spotlight the interplay between book-writing, showrunners' decisions, and fan expectations, making it a resource for listeners who want thoughtful analysis along with entertaining banter. A notable strength is the hosts' clear command of film and TV craft, which helps listeners connect on both narrative and technical levels—... more
