Love y’all’s Gilded Age coverage (& white lotus before that), but yall totally skipped over the white doctor prescribing Laudanum to George, which is opium alcohol and morphine mixed together 😳 highly addictive stuff. Helps explain why George made the bounce back (feeling no pain) & the 180 with Bertha from the Ball to the next morning. What do y’all think?
I used to really love this podcast, especially House of the Dragon recaps but everything I listen to know, even old Soprano rewatches are completely wrong with information. They guess and say it’s fact - even so recent as The Bear recaps. If you’re going to do a recap podcast, please make sure you watch the episode or take great notes. The disinformation really bugs me when I’ve only watched it once and they can’t remember half the things going on.
I first listened to this podcast during white lotus season 3 and i really enjoyed it and laughed so hard!! And I have been listening it since even when I haven’t watched the particular show! Love love love!
Andor’s the kind of prestige show that I don’t get Ross & Barrett skipping. If it’s political I get it but say so. It’s easily the best/most timely show of the century.
Tried listening to the Sinners pod and these dudes are straight casuals. Felt like there was zero research before the discussion, tons of misinformation - I recall them saying Sinners is already top 6 at the box office for horrors when a two sec google search shows several films including World War Z, I Am Legend, and Signs still far ahead. You can tell buddy was just reading stuff he read off twitter to try and sound smart without fact checking it.
