  • Used to be better

Have been listening for years but recently there has been a lot less world football chat. Tangents and subjects described as looking at the world through the ‘prism’ of football often have nothing to do with the game. The majority of the football based chat is to do with the leagues in this country and not with foreign leagues or competitions. Why have correspondents from other countries on if hours of the show is dedicated to English football subjects?

  • More Football Less Singing

Please can we have a condensed version of the Podcast just on the football so I don’t have to keep skipping the singing and random chats.

The experts have so much in depth knowledge to listen to and that’s what a lot of people just want to hear. Please can Dotun just stay quiet and not sing!

  • Stop him singing

Used to be best football show on the radio but the presenter won’t stop singing or interrupting people to make a really rubbish joke or off on a tangent I can listen to about 30 mins these days without turning it off

  • Too Much Gridiron

Stop talking about the Santa Clara 49ers. Too much chat about a game that takes 5 hours to play 1. Americans love adverts and probs why lots have switched over to PL, Bundesliga, La Liga, etc.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

VAR controversy & best strikers
Q: What should happen now after a controversial VAR decision?
Most callers suggest not replaying the match, arguing it would set a risky precedent, but some propose sanctions or retraining for officials and exploring AI-assisted decisions as a long-term improvement.
League predictions
Q: Should Manchester United give Marcus Rashford a second chance, or should he give the club a second chance?
Opinions varied; some felt Rashford should stay and prove his value, while others questioned long-term fit and wage considerations.
The summer transfer window
Q: What would it take for Vinícius Júnior to move to the Premier League, and which club would suit him best?
The discussion centers on whether Vinícius could fit into a team like Arsenal or Liverpool, considering his ego, style, and how a top club would balance him with existing stars; there are caveats about fitting two big egos tactically and emotionally, and whether Real Madrid would approve selling him to a direct rival.
Transfer time
Q: Should Infantino remain in his role given the controversies?
The panel leaned toward accountability and reform, with some calls for him to go, while others emphasized the need for transparent leadership and structural change in FIFA rather than removal alone.
The semi finals draw near
Q: Who do you think will win between England and Argentina and why?
Predictions are nuanced, balancing tactical setup, player form, and historical rivalry, with some callers favoring England for home advantage and others arguing Argentina's attacking quality could tilt the result.
