  • Question for the show

Say my typical miss on my iron is low on the face (and a tad bit on the toe). A iron that is set to a more flat angle on the iron should, in a perfect world help me hit more towards the center of the club face, or at least get the ball up towards the middle in contact? Correct?

Club Fitting Q&A with Larry Bobka + The Algorithm of Winning
Q: What new clubs are you gaming this year, Larry?
Larry mentions trying a Ninewood driver and a mix of blade and cavity-back irons, indicating ongoing experimentation and the willingness to explore non-mainstream options to optimize feel and performance.
Club Fitting Q&A with Larry Bobka + The Algorithm of Winning
Q: Should I be hitting my mini driver off the tee like a fairway finder or more like a traditional driver?
It depends on how you intend to use it; if used as a fairway finder from the deck, you may set up slightly differently than when used as a secondary driver designed for carry and distance, with adjustments to ball position and stance.
Club Fitting Q&A with Larry Bobka + The Algorithm of Winning
Q: Why do many PGA Tour players use shorter drivers than standard?
The reason is control and dispersion; top players trade off some distance for tighter control and straighter ball flights, using heavier or shorter shafts to manage spin and accuracy on demanding courses.
Club Fitting Q&A with Larry Bobka + The Algorithm of Winning
Q: What's one new club or shaft or product of any kind that has really surprised you in a good way this year so far in fittings?
Larry points to the Ping I-540/IV540 family as a standout, noting it launches high and has gained performance while maintaining playability and forgiveness, exceeding expectations after transitioning from the 530s.
Best USED Golf Clubs at 2nd Swing
Q: What driver or fairway wood shafts are most comparable to the Fujikura Ventus Velocore Plus?
The Mitsubishi Diamana/board lines (blue, white, red boards) are the closest in feel and performance, with personal preference depending on spin and stability; testing different boards helps tailor the fit.
