Is it weird to call a post apocalyptic scenario “adorable?” The dynamic between this couple is so believable that at times it can be jarring to remember that this isn’t just a slice of life comedy, but that lives are on the line at all times! The dialogue could have been written by Richard Curtis at his quick paced sitcom best. Perfectly witty, yet dry as a bone, and always rooted in reality. Just an absolute delight to listen to!
This show is a conundrum; so we have a healthy slice of post-disaster Zombie fare. Based in Faringdon, which sounds like a fantastic holiday destination. The undead have usurped the living to take control of the surrounding area. So we have scavenging, ultra violence and despair. A horrible scenario that is surprisingly adorable thanks to our survivors, an amazing duo that tackle all their problems with a genuine wit and eschaton optimism. That's because this show's creators are ardent cheerleaders for the genre, friendly, outgoing and supportive. What can I say about this podcast that hasn't already been said? I could go on for hours about the juxtaposition between surviving a zombie apocalypse and marital banter, but I don't think it would do it justice! more
