有句话这么说：“穷大方，富抠门。”意思是，囊中羞涩的人，喜欢打肿脸充胖子，家财万贯的人，花钱却精打细算。有人戏称，越有钱的人越抠门。在很多人眼里，抠门等同于斤斤计较或者一毛不拔。其实，恰如其分的“抠”，不仅仅是一种生活态度，更是一场人生修行。那些越小气越富有的人，往往深谙这三个道理。
虽然母亲一九八七年就从厨房“退役”，但在她在世和刚刚离开的日子里，我总觉得厨房还是母亲的。
我站在厨房里，为从老厨房带过来的一刀、一铲、一瓢、一碗、一筷、一勺而伤情。这些东西，没有一样不是母亲用过的。
也为母亲没能见到这新厨房，和新厨房里的每一样新东西而嘴里发苦，心里发灰。
为新厨房置办这个带烤箱的、四个火眼的炉子时，母亲还健在，我曾夸下海口：“妈，等咱们搬进新家，我给您烤蛋糕、烤鸡吃。”
看看地面，也是怕母亲上了年纪，腿脚不便，铺了防滑地砖。

最近一个时期，经常听到人们的劝告：“要糊涂一点，要潇洒一点。”
关于第一点糊涂问题，我最近写过一篇短文《难得糊涂》。
在这里，我把糊涂分为两种：一种叫真糊涂，一种叫假糊涂。
普天之下，绝大多数的人，争名于朝，争利于市。
尝到一点小甜头，便喜不自胜，手舞足蹈，心花怒放，忘乎所以。碰到一个小钉子，便忧思焚心，眉头紧皱，前途暗淡，哀叹不已。这种人滔滔者天下皆是也。
他们是真糊涂，但并不自觉。他们是幸福的，愉快的。愿老天爷再向他们降福。
至于假糊涂或装糊涂，则以郑板桥的“难得糊涂”最为典型。
