Youth Pastor Theologian believes that youth ministry is theological ministry. That’s why each episode features a conversation at the intersection of youth ministry and theological reflection. We want to help youth workers make disciples who endure and offer practical advice about what that type of ministry looks like. Cohosted by Mike McGarry and John Gardner, each episode is filled with decades o... more

If you have anything at all to do with student ministry, this is a must listen! Mike has guests from so many areas of youth ministry and truly helps understand the theology that drives what we do.
Great episode. I was challenged to look at my own youth group and ask what the end goal is. It was also good to hear others are asking the question, “So what?” in the context of our teaching.
Keep up the great work of challenging and encouraging interviews.
Mike does a really good job of helping youth ministers go WAY beyond ordering a pizza and planning a game. This is what love for God and students looks like when it comes together in a podcast.
Youth ministry isn’t a stepping stone to “real ministry,” it is real ministry. Our students need the real gospel for their real lives. These conversations help to demonstrate how youth workers can be intentional about bringing the truth and grace of God to bear on their own lives and on the lives of students.
I really appreciate the desire to help youth pastors combine the Truth of the Gospel with the incarnational living out of faith in the everyday lives of their teens…. Keep up the good work!
(& I really loved the two interviews of Vince Greenwald of Immanuel Nashville => very practical sharing of how Gospel Doctrine is lived out as Gospel Culture)
