Sometimes a book just entirely speaks to me and I must, must, must do it, and I think... I really wanted to work with Sophie so much on 'The Fishmonger and the Pastry Chef.'
Summer Series #4: Cheryl Orsini
Q: How did that one start? Like what happened there?
When it came to me, I knew I wanted to illustrate it. It's a beautiful picture book text that drew on Sophie's background in the Basque country of France.

I mean, I'm a watercolor artist and I've always had a bit of a retro bent to my references in my work and my color palette.

Jade aims to advocate for First Nations representation through her illustrations, showcasing the diversity and stories of Aboriginal people.
