出生於歌仔戲世家，父親是名噪一時的「戲狀元」蔣武童，但童年的唐美雲，卻因為父母常年在外奔波演出，一度不喜歡歌仔戲。她甚至覺得，如果家裡不是唱戲的，也許就能有個更完整的家。
