在伴侶關係的實務工作中，有一類人經常出現在諮商室裡，卻很少被社會清楚命名。他們長期處於關係之中，卻承受高度的情感孤立；他們能精準描述問題，卻經常不被相信。心理實務中，這個角色被稱為「卡珊德拉」。
