  • Love dis

Love this podcast…found out about it from my brother, @realnickdavis. A little funny to hear these dudes talking about Teslas and finding meaning, but we’re all a walking contradiction. I do find myself taking notes, very solid, practical information to be better, do better. Great job.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

YFYI — #90 — Awareness In the Mindfield
Q: How would you define intellect in relation to mind?
Intellect is the capacity to think, reason, judge, and discern, guiding the mind rather than being driven by it.
YFYI — #75 — Live From Venice
Q: To what extent is Vedanta aligned with Rick Rubin's idea of creating for yourself rather than for an audience?
Vedanta would align with creating for your own truth first; when you act in alignment with your own intellect and authentic nature, the work naturally resonates with others.
YFYI — #83 — Freedom Artists
Q: What is the most challenging aspect of teaching Vedanta in public settings?
Getting people to actually enter the room and engage; the real challenge is transitioning from a non-participatory setting to a living dialogue where questions emerge and lead the discussion.
YFYI — #83 — Freedom Artists
Q: How do you handle skepticism or resistance in an audience?
by guiding the skeptic through a short experiential exercise to reveal their own desires and the momentary calm that can follow, then tying that experience back to Vedanta's teachings about desire and the self.
YFYI — #83 — Freedom Artists
Q: What makes Vedanta particularly engaging to people who come to a talk or retreat?
People light up when the discussion centers on being a human being and the nature of the self, because that directly touches their own experiences, emotions, and everyday concerns. The approach is to connect philosophy to personal questions, rather than presenting abstract theory.
