Two 30something New Yorkers (Diane, a professional chef, and Jason, a magazine editor) talk family, dating, friendship, money, work — among many, many other things — from their Asian American perspectives. Only half serious.

Is there some link between the imposter syndrome that we feel at work (in life) and our race? No! Yes? Maybe?
After all the build-up and all the hoopla, we finally watched Crazy Rich Asians — there was a lot we liked, and some we didn't.
Crazy Rich Asians the movie is out in August — Jason has read (and enjoyed) the books. Diane hasn't. But both of us have reservations about having to support this "landmark" all-Asian cast with open arms. Do beggars have to be choosers?
Growing up in an Asian American enclave, Diane was enamored of hip hop and black culture — even without knowing a single black person. We talk about reconciling affinity for a culture you're not a part of, how to enact what you support in theory, and... more

I enjoy the rapport and honest opinions and thoughts about the topics. They speak of things that I agree with or open my mind to new ideas, which I love!
I really enjoy listening to this podcast, they're often able to articulate my feelings about certain issues but haven't explicitly sorted through. The tone is laid back and good humoured. Jason's perspective with dating as a gay asian man is interesting. I'm curious about his relationship with his parents, since talking about sex and sexuality is typically taboo among asian families. Wish they would upload more.
Yellow Face is a podcast that makes you want to know more! The two talk about real issues that affect many Asian Americans today. My favorite episode was the one about dating white men. I think this podcast is very raw and that’s part of what is appealing about it; they aren’t afraid to say what IS. Hope to see more episodes soon!
It’s great to hear issues I myself have to deal with. I really recommend this!!!
Jason and Diane have a great rapport and it's fun to hear them talk about their experiences as Asian-Americans navigating family, dating, and NYC.
