Reviews

4.7 out of 5 stars from 1.5k ratings
  • Not it.

The host interrupts, finishes sentences, and otherwise features themself too much when the folks interviewed are perfectly able to express themselves. I find the pick-a-card-of-three conceit gimmicky. This podcast has found its way into my stream after others I subscribe to. I don’t enjoy it. 3 stars for the guests, tho.

  • A quick note

David Sedaris’s take on humiliation, that for a writer, when someone humiliates you, it’s like they hand you money, is my captivating thought for the rest of the year at the very least.

  • Too many celebrities

Too many celebrities are tapped for this. My favorite episode is when they go to the street and get answers from people that aren’t polished for interviews. There is a tremendous amount of wisdom and life experience that NPR ignores to favor the famous.
