  • Jonathan Goldstein!

I am a huge fan of Heavyweight and was excited that Rachel had Jonathan on her show today. Their conversation was deep and personal. I especially appreciate Jonathan sharing how, by holding himself aloof from life was probably a ploy to make death a “lateral move.” I can so relate but have never heard anyone articulate this before; it’s something in myself that I will be thinking about a lot. Rachel does a great job and Jonathan was a terrific guest to go deep with!

  • Thursdays are the best because of Wild Card

Thursdays used to be just the day before Friday. Now Thursday is my favorite morning because I know a new episode of Wild Card will be waiting for me. Rachel Martin is a wonderful interviewer. The questions in the deck are so very thought provoking and the guests take such time and care answering. I’ve memorized some of the questions to pose to friends and family, and they always prompt interesting discussions.

  • Rachel and her body shot shouldn’t be the story

Guests are great and Rachel’s questions are often good but she has fallen into the Trumpian XInstacrap-era category of breathless ‘journalists’ who want to be the story, evidenced clearly by her casting couch body shot that is the cover art for this pod. Marketing on the merits.

  • Please, Rachel Martin, talk less

I don’t know if anyone reads these but if so, please tell Rachel Martin to talk less. The guests can barely get a word in without her saying *something*, and often she ends up answering the question and making it about herself. The people she interviews have done interviews before and do not need her to interject - it’s like she’s afraid of silence or of the interviewee feeling uncomfortable. This could be such a good show but I feel like her hosting style kind of ruins it.

  • Inspirational

I started going from working at home to hybrid work. This podcast has saved me during my commutes. I find the deep discussions to be uplifting & inspirational. It makes me feel there is positivity in this chaotic world and we have far more in common as human beings than differences. Thank you for giving us hope.
