原則跟我昨天所說的例子相似。比如說我施一個手術，目的是為拯救孕婦的生命；若不施手術，孕婦便會死亡。雖然手術的後果可能會導致流產、胎兒死亡，但我們做手術的初衷並非為了殺害胎兒，而是為了救媽媽，這樣是允許的。合法自衛也是一樣的道理，「因為合法自衛就是選擇保護自己，珍惜自己或別人的生命權，而不選擇殺人。」
