Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Vlad Tenev and Tudor Achim on mathematical superintelligence, why math is harder than code for LLMs, and the end of buggy software
Q: First of all, I'd love to just understand the founding story. How did you guys get together and found this particular mission?
They describe a convergence of personal interests in math and physics, a shared curiosity about solving hard math problems with AI, and prior connections (angel investing in Helm AI) that led to collaboration and a focus on math reasoning reinforced by formal verification.
Nextdoor CEO Nirav Tolia on bowling alone, AI bots, and why the heartland is happier than the coasts
Q: What do you think the Internet still hasn't figured out about communities and identity?
Identity has evolved from anonymity to verified reality, and that trust helps shape how people act online; today, AI bots complicate identity by creating non-human personas, which challenges how communities maintain accountability and meaningful connection.
Lt. General Mike Fenzel (Ret.) on bad data, bad experts, and why we can’t exit wars
Q: What has kept you in the military for so long?
I found it to be an honorable profession and the sense of responsibility was rewarding, especially towards the end of my career when I focused on waging peace.
Lt. General Mike Fenzel (Ret.) on bad data, bad experts, and why we can’t exit wars
Q: Are you hopeful that we're going to reach some sort of more enduring peace?
Yes, I'm very hopeful. However, I believe that politics often obstructs progress toward negotiating peace.
Turing CEO Jonathan Siddharth - The $30 Trillion Knowledge Work Market, Training Frontier AI Models and Building Stage Five Culture
Q: What is your view on how AI will affect jobs?
AI will not automate people out of jobs entirely, as there will always be a need for human involvement in systems designed to work alongside AI.
