Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

(48) Strengthening Women Who Sustain Communities, with Aliza Bulow
Q: Can you describe the impact of the end-of-life care conference and the communities of practice you've built?
The end-of-life care conference demonstrated participatory learning and field-building, bringing together women across roles to discuss sensitive topics and create actionable initiatives. The communities of practice then scale that learning by connecting women globally, enabling knowledge sharing and collaborative leadership across continents.
(48) Strengthening Women Who Sustain Communities, with Aliza Bulow
Q: How does CORE's training prepare Rebbetzins and other female leaders for real-world challenges?
The MMC program combines therapeutic-style supervision with Torah study, focusing on helping ministers access their own desires (ratzon), exercise their free will (bechirah), and maintain hope. It includes weekly classes, small-group supervision, and community initiatives, ensuring leaders grow personally while they learn to guide others with empathy and professional boundaries.
(48) Strengthening Women Who Sustain Communities, with Aliza Bulow
Q: What motivated you to start CORE and what gap did you see in the Jewish world that needed addressing?
I saw that many women in leadership roles lacked formalized, scalable training and a consistent support structure. CORE provides two main programs — a two-and-a-half-year MMC training and global communities of practice — to elevate women who are already serving in observant communities and to connect them into a larger field that can support thousands of people.
(45) Hormonal Health the Jewish Way with Jacqueline Rose
Q: What led you to choose this path for your career, and how do you strive to lead in this area?
Jacqueline describes her transition from environmental work to women's health, driven by a desire to understand and support women through perimenopause and menopause, using a functional medicine perspective and a focus on the mind-body connection.
(43) Teaching Israel with Courage and Complexity, with Sarah Gordon, VP of Unpacked for Educators
Q: How should schools prepare for difficult conversations about Israel?
Provide training on listening, curiosity, and responding to emotions, create structured opportunities for dialogue, and differentiate between private discourse and public stance within the school's mission.
