  • Charlatanism is not legitimate policy making

Is big pharma motivated by greed? Sure. Is America's health bad relative to its wealth? Yes. Does any of that suddenly mean paranoid laypeople like RFK Jr and every other "wellness" expert who has no professional medical training have the legitimate authority to dictate health policy? No. Internet access and half-baked Facebook medical conspiracies do not make you a medical expert. If you want to kid yourself into denying all of the lives saved by vaccines over the last hundred years plea... more

  • Pretentious Hosts

I’m having a hard time getting through this podcast. As someone who has lost trust in the mainstream health system, I find the inherent elitist attitude of these people to be off putting. I appreciate the attempts to understand MAHA but they’re still missing the mark. It just seems like a strategy and not genuine. No thanks! That just makes you part of the problem.

  • "Tested against placebo"

This is wrong. So frustrating to hear people state as fact what they clearly aren't informed about. You don't realize your bias but this has been clearly explained by RFK and DarkHorse pod hosts among others.

Would be better if you questioned your "known facts" before stating as if they're true when perhaps you haven't yet awakened to reality.

Also the female moderator makes herself sound like a complete idiot throughout the interview. Interrupting to divert from important points and "yo" and ... more

Q: Is there a path for a third-way politics that can house MAHA-like energy within the existing two-party system?
Ryan suggests a reform-minded leadership could create a new center-left space, but notes the difficulty of breaking up the two-party system and the need for principled, courageous leadership to move reform forward.
The Most MAHA Democrat We've Met: A Conversation w Former Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) On A New Politics in America

A strategy emphasizing reform that links subsidies to healthy food, transparent science, and pragmatic policies while acknowledging and addressing cost pressures in health care and food could bridge gaps.

Q: What went through your mind when you saw the Kennedy-Trump alignment and the MAHA shift in the parties?
Ryan describes a mix of frustration with party dynamics, concern about how such shifts affect blue-collar voters, and a belief that there needs to be room for conversation and reform to engage the MAHA coalition.
Sunday Special: As Higher Ed Research Falls Short on Impact, Here’s a Fix. A Conversation w Behavioral Scientist Daniel Max Crowley
Q: What about research for research's sake?
Crowley argues that basic discovery is essential and should be preserved, but no longer should progress stop at publication; there must be translational steps and institutional support to carry discoveries toward real-world application.

Q: What is the infrastructure you're proposing, and how does it work in practice?
The infrastructure involves listening to policymakers, matchmaking researchers with the right audiences, delivering usable science directly to decision-makers, and creating incentives for scholars to pursue translational work that benefits society.
