When Wagon Wheels Were Bigger is a weekly podcast that watches kids' TV from the eighties and casts a more cynical eye on the shows we used to love. Sometimes funny, usually disappointing, join your hosts Mark and Martyn and ruin a small part of your childhood week by week.

An astronaut becomes a space barbarian with a magic sword, in a cartoon which nobody remembers because it took a few more years to for the US government to allow cartoons to become adverts for toys.

An alien boy with a magic gym bag fights against an evil queen to save all of sport. Because if there's anything we need more of during the summer months, it's sport. Endless, omnipresent, tiresome sport.

I started with their campaign on dice podcast as a fan of fighting fantasy and have ended up listening to a weeks worth of content every week.
A broad range of interests perfect for any 35+ year old brain to appreciate
A Gareth Hale tribute act and a bald Louis Theroux discuss growing old, local teachers, grout cleaning, You Tube comments, 90s comedy, failing health, gaviscon and things that happen between a very specific time frame. Oh there’s also a You Tube video getting ignored.
Keep the wagon wheels rolling !
I am writing a review. It didn't specify it had to be about this podcast so... the Remington smooth & silky battery operated ladyshaver.
Apparently produces perfectly smooth skin, not so, liars. Doesn't shave my skin closely and I am a lady and everything. It's pink because I'm a girl, that's how I know it's for me. Waste your money if you want.
This podcast makes Mondays worth getting up for! Mark and Martyn kick Mondays to bits with their comedy take on nostalgic tv shows and cartoons. Laugh out loud funny, I never miss an episode. They are great guys too but be careful they don’t start drinking your nutrients.

A witty, nostalgia-driven show that revisits 1980s and 1990s kids' TV with a sharp, self-deprecating sense of humor. Episodes blend affectionate memory with skeptical critique, often riffing on production quirks, cultural context, and the hosts' own childhoods. The format is conversational banter between two longtime presenters, delivering punchy takes, playful tangents, and surprising depth on why old programs still resonate (or don't) today. The show stands out for its relentless nostalgia, candid riffs about race, gender, and representation in vintage media, and a knack for turning familiar clips into lively, laughter-filled analysis.
