I live listening to this show because it makes you realize how if we don’t keep track of our spending, money just disappears. Great show and can’t wait for other episodes.
This show has already been so enlightening for me. It’s a comfort to know that really everybody has spending on their mind in some way. Maybe it creates a “we’re all in this together feeling “that I really like - great show
Disappointed this show has decided to become political with this last episode. Brought on an extremist and let them take over the show with rants with no challenges or pushback to all the lunacy.
The latest episode elevates the show from what could be perceived as simple voyeurism to a much more thoughtful and useful place. Keep it up.
This show is so important in these times when people say things such as “no one wants to work anymore” or “stop using all your money on coffee” this bears the truth of it all. Not all come about and spend money the same and it’s important to be open to see others experiences especially if they are not the same as your own. I love how different each one has been and the honesty they all willingly share.
This podcast follows everyday people as they do a week long diary on what they spend their income on. This is very eye opening, especially hearing what people spend compared to their yearly salary. Hearing a diverse population with different spending habits is very insightful. The more recent podcast on the truck driver and working homeless is so good at showing the great divide in America and how people who do so much to serve others can have so little opportunity to just make a living wage.
As a finance nerd I’m always wondering about other people’s money. How they make it, how much they make and how they spend it. I love the mix of guests on this show and unlike others I don’t think there needs to be a segment on how to be better with their money. There are lots of other podcasts for that.
As a high school financial literacy instructor, I was immediately intrigued. I also have ADHD and find the various stories and situations to be really good background noise as I cook or drive. I also appreciate a peek into various American lives.
Super compassionately told , with true life stories about people who deserve a voice. Thank u!
Love the podcast because it helps me to know I am not the only one struggling with finances, and it helps me think more about the money we spend. One thing that I think would make this better would be a component where each person receives ideas on where to cut spending or how to save more money. Tips on lowering costs would be even more helpful to me.
This podcast is so humanizing, giving me a window into the lives of other Americans.
I really enjoy this show. It is such a good insight of how people choose to live or on the contrary how they live just to survive. It’s very eye-opening and so honest of people to share their finances and their life. I like that the show is not about how to fix their problems or tell them about programs or how to make extra money. It just shows their real life. All of us sometimes have a plan and life doesn’t always turn out how we think.
I’ll be honest, the Helena one had me scratching my head. Talk about out of touch. Throughout the entire episode I was wondering whether her boss was listening. Besides the endless runs to Whole Foods, the all-night entertaining, or the desperate need for a break after *gasp* a few hours filled with meetings, I’m wondering if this oh-so -fortunate remote worker is worth the $175,000 salary.
Real people sharing their stories. It opens your eyes to other peoples struggles. The sense of humanity and brings people together.
I’ve really been enjoying this show, hearing a variety of people talk about their feelings with money and where they stem from. It’s a very relatable podcast most of the time, and I love that it takes the taboo out of discussing our finances and incomes and deeper fears about not having enough. Whether we like it or not, money is such a big factor in our world, and this show gives a lot of insight into that without commentary, and it spurs some interesting conversations between my husband and I ... more
