This is one of my favourite podcasts. A variable mix of anarchy and professionalism, so you never know where you are heading. The goddamn news is a good way to start, before getting in to the meat of the often tragic disasters. Safety third at the end brings us back to earth with a small bump, thanking the gods that most of us have never had a near fatal episode at work. Being a sparky, I’ve had some close ones. The presenters are a perfect mix of modern humanity.
The rare piece of media where the subject matter is so interesting, it usually, but not always, outweighs the fact that I actively dislike several regulars on the show.
Racist bastards.
Found out a out this one via No Gods No Mayors! I love the podcast and I wanted to let you all know that I listened to the Silver Line episode while aboard the SL3 (which I take almost every day). Cheers!
Love the show, great topics and great banter. I love it when the conversations go off the rails. November is an international treasure. Keep up the good work and yay Liam.

This show blends deep dives into engineering disasters with sharp, irreverent humor from a clearly left-leaning perspective. Episodes mix technical explanations with history, policy critique, and culture wars, frequently featuring guests who provide technical context or historical flavor. A standout is the recurring use of slides and on-site anecdotes to illuminate why failures occur—from safety culture to procurement and regulation—while maintaining a fast, banter-heavy tempo that fans either love or love to hate. Listeners can expect rigorous analysis wrapped in provocative critique and punchy humor, with a distinctive focus on how systemic incentives shape engineering outcomes and public safety.
