This week, we sit down with Around the World with Dot — the animated adventure that whisked an Australian bush child across continents in a strange blend of live-action backdrops, talking animals, and Cold War-era messaging.
From the peculiar pacing... more

I used to be a fan and listen every week but Mathew really got on my nerves with the voices. Every time there’s an old time report he puts on some fake voice and launches into a monologue that is way to long and just not funny at all. He thinks he’s Henry zebrowski but he’s just not. I stopped listening for a while and came back but he’s worse. Just stop..
Love the pod. However, I could do without Matthew’s terrible American accents. They are all cringy and not remotely accurate.
As a non Aussie, I found this podcast to listen to with my kids. My daughter is OBSESSED with the Thylacine. (Aka Tazmanian Tiger) and we started listening for that episode. The Emu War is one of our Favorites. Please do a little research on the event if you listen with kids. Some episodes are about mourderers, or sh00tings and might not be family friendly.
Love to Oz from California!
Unfortunately these guys do not have a voice for radio. The male host constantly interrupts with his own opinions that he portrays as facts rather than ‘opinions’. There are constant mispronunciations of central characters names, geographical locations and simple English. Even references to Television shows for example like Underbelly where the male host says it depicts Lewis Moran was murdered in his family home, where it’s documented fact he was shot at the Brunswick Club Hotel as was shown in... more
This has so much potential. I listened to the Keren Rowland episode and the interviewee was amazing and well spoken, and it’s great to see some of the topics being covered by Australians. But this Matthew guy comes across as incredibly arrogant, opinionated without a good basis for it, and mansplains and cuts off the female host. Do better please!
