  • Love the pod, hate the accents

Love the pod. However, I could do without Matthew’s terrible American accents. They are all cringy and not remotely accurate.

  • Non Aussie

As a non Aussie, I found this podcast to listen to with my kids. My daughter is OBSESSED with the Thylacine. (Aka Tazmanian Tiger) and we started listening for that episode. The Emu War is one of our Favorites. Please do a little research on the event if you listen with kids. Some episodes are about mourderers, or sh00tings and might not be family friendly.

  • Potential but is barely consumable due to hosts.

Unfortunately these guys do not have a voice for radio. The male host constantly interrupts with his own opinions that he portrays as facts rather than ‘opinions’. There are constant mispronunciations of central characters names, geographical locations and simple English. Even references to Television shows for example like Underbelly where the male host says it depicts Lewis Moran was murdered in his family home, where it’s documented fact he was shot at the Brunswick Club Hotel as was shown in... more

  • Good topics but male host needs to stop mansplaining

This has so much potential. I listened to the Keren Rowland episode and the interviewee was amazing and well spoken, and it’s great to see some of the topics being covered by Australians. But this Matthew guy comes across as incredibly arrogant, opinionated without a good basis for it, and mansplains and cuts off the female host. Do better please!

  • Couldn’t finish it

Thought I’d give this a crack because there’s some genuinely interesting topics that are covered, and promptly downloaded their Black Saturday episode.

Now, whilst some would think that people listening to this particular episode would want to hear how and why this event happened, the male co-host was clearly of the opinion that listeners would much rather hear him interrupt every thirty seconds with irrelevant, boring twaddle. It’s a shame, because it makes what would otherwise be an interesti... more
