  • Great episode

You guys are still going strong. More podcast Dave please. I really enjoyed your discussion today. Also, I like that other guy who kept calling you JT. Although, he did have that horrible take about Pereira being able to withstand John’s wrestling.

  • Stop with the backstories

Guys please stop yapping about whatever memories from Strikeforce back in the day. I like the fight analysis but it’s probably about 20% of the timestamp where it says the top.

Less than 20% of an entire episode is fight analysis

  • Stick to what you know

The Social Security administration is not sending checks to dead people. That pathetic piece of misinformation is just another one of Elon’s adolescent computer non-whizzes misinterpreting the facts. Before shooting from the hip next time, how about getting your facts straight- or, better still, how about keeping your uninformed mouths shut. We don’t tune into listen to your juvenile political rants. Stick to what you know—MMA.

Discussing MMA in 2026 with Brett Okamoto
Q: How do you see the role of media in shaping MMA stars today, given the focus on business, contracts, and promotions?
Media coverage tends to chase attention and clicks, often emphasizing business and promotions over fighting narratives, which can hinder star development unless outlets balance business context with deep storytelling about fighters' journeys.
Discussing MMA in 2026 with Brett Okamoto
Q: Do you think MVP Promotions can become a sustainable, regular platform or is it more of a novelty project?
If Netflix commits to a long-term plan with a solid roster and regular events, MVP could reshape fighter contracts and visibility, but it requires scale, consistency, and cross-platform strategy beyond one-off shows.
Discussing MMA in 2026 with Brett Okamoto
Q: What are your thoughts on the White House card and whether the location affected fan excitement versus the fight quality?
It's a mix of big names and location-driven hype; the card is solid, but the long build for John Jones and Conor McGregor raised expectations that were hard to meet, and that tension affects how the event is perceived.
Josh Thomson's Stem Cell Treatment
Q: What made you decide to jump from jiu-jitsu into stem cell medicine?
A combination of personal motivation from Ed and Dedrick, a belief in patient-first care, and seeing real patients improve when access to innovative treatments was opened up, even if it meant taking a risk outside traditional Western medicine.
FAN QUESTIONS + FIGHT ANNOUNCEMENTS! | WEIGHING IN #635
Q: What advice would you give to upcoming or amateur fighters?
When you think you're in good enough shape, run more laps, do more road work, because the better shape you're in, the better your brain processes techniques.
