Reviews

4.8 out of 5 stars from 4k ratings
  • Shadow of former self

2 years ago I gave this show 5 stars. Says it all. The additional of Chuck Mildenhall and a rota of other very average stand ins, relegates a once great show to just ordinary. Surely, there are ex (or current) fighters out there to replace BC, who’d love this exposure and could really add something? I’m thinking Angela Hill, Anthony Smith etc. Something needs to change and fast.

  • High and Mighty

I’m over Luke. It was tolerable when BC was part of the team, but I don’t need political commentary in my sports podcast. I’m not even Republican but it’s so annoying. I don’t write reviews for podcasts normally but I am writing one today because this show is absolute magic without the political digs and petty remarks. I’ll check back after UFC White House to see if anything has changed.

  • The MMA content is good when the main programming progressive whiner segment ends.

3/4 of the content is apparently now grown men clutching pearls that prize fighters in a bloodsport aren’t radical progressives…

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dustin Poirier Arrested | UFC Baku Preview | Meta UFC Rankings | Eddie Hearn signs Ian Machado Garry
Q: What are the biggest takeaways from Poirier's arrest and social media response?
The hosts emphasize empathy and accountability, noting the potential for this incident to motivate Dustin toward seeking help, while also discussing the broader implications for fighter welfare and the sport's support structures.
Adesanya vs Pyfer Stakes | UFC Seattle Preview | Full Rousey-Carano Card Revealed
Q: What's at stake for Izzy if he loses via stoppage?
A loss, especially by stoppage, could dramatically impact his career trajectory and open the door for discussions about retirement or shifting focus, while a win keeps him in the mix but doesn't clearly map the path forward.
UFC 326 Results: Oliveira Beats Holloway | White House Card Revealed | Is the UFC Getting Boring?
Q: How would you describe the start of the Paramount era compared to previous streaming deals, and is this the most unimaginative matchmaking era so far?
The hosts reflect that while the Paramount era has brought new distribution, the actual matchmaking feels less imaginative than in Fox or ESPN eras, with many cards feeling predictable or underwhelming despite strong marketing. They acknowledge risks in over-marketing fights that don't live up to the hype, and highlight a broader trend of prioritizing spectacle and partnerships over fan-driven fight selection.
UFC Fight Night: Strickland vs Hernandez Preview | Sean Strickland Drama | Rousey-Carano Booked
Q: Is this a do-or-die fight for Ryan Garcia?
For him, it needs to be here because if you can't win under circumstances like this, you just can't win a world title.
UFC Fight Night: Strickland vs Hernandez Preview | Sean Strickland Drama | Rousey-Carano Booked
Q: Will Netflix's event with Ronda and Gina have a long-term impact on MMA?
Ronda Rousey was never in a boring fight, and this could be a huge moment for women's MMA.
