That’s right! Not just a podcast for “bird nerds” or “ twitchers” but anyone who wants to get more from their visits to the outdoors and when travelling. Kirsty is a great host and researcher and so responsive. The topics are interesting, filled with experts in their field and the presentation is engaging and easy to listen to. I now find myself and my family are more engaged outdoorsy people. My favourite podcast!
Weekend Birder is absolutely my favourite podcast! So much to learn from every guest and Kirsty herself. I love the length and variety of the episodes and have been re-listening to many. Thank you so much for sharing the joy of birding!
Good guests but the host has an annoying style. Pronunciation of bird names needs improvement. Curlew is pronounced ‘cur-loo’ not curly-you. Goshawk is pronounced goshawk not gozhawk.
Even as long term birdwatchers we enjoy this podcast immensely! Inspiring and lots of interesting research based information. Keep up the fantastic work!
What an absolute gem of a podcast. I have learnt so much about birding. I never felt confident or experienced enough to call myself a twitcher, but love to check out birds. Listening to the podcast, I can now put a name to my interest…I am a ‘bird noticer’. I like that label, it fits. Thank you Kirsty for putting this fantastic podcast together and to the wonderful and inspiring guests that bring their interests and expertise to each episode.
