  • Podcast good.

Love this show! I wish there were more of a backlog of episodes because I find myself wanting to listen to these 3 all the time. A small sidetone: Loren kinda sounds like my GPS, so that can get a little confusing while I’m driving.

  • Came for RPGs, Left for Political Nonsense

I originally came to this podcast because I really enjoy Kelly’s channel “Power Word Spill.” This podcast has a very interesting format, fun atmosphere and banter, and interesting information regarding RPG games—as advertised. Where it derails is the cohost hyping “queer-coded,” “minority-created,” “anticaptialist” games and violent antifa promotion. This is like nails on a chalkboard for anyone with any common sense. I’m not trying to tell these podcasters what kind of content to run—to each hi... more

I’ve recently started playing D&D, and naturally went hunting for podcasts to learn and get inspired. There are loads out there, but nothing really clicked for me—until We Like D&D. Great audio quality, engaging content, and the hosts come across as genuinely friendly and fun. 5 stars—highly recommended to everyone! Greetings from Belgium!

  • Great show for DMs

He guys, love the show! I especially loved the segment in the June episode where you made the campaign setting, it gave me so many ideas of things to add to my campaigns. I also love getting to hear all the different things you guys bring to show and tell. Have you considered splitting each segment into its own episode and releasing them weekly instead of one big episode monthly? That would make it easier to listen back through specific segments and also give you guys a better idea of what peopl... more

Cinematic vs Mechanical Mass Combat
Q: What is your preferred method for handling mass combat to keep it cinematic yet playable?
A hybrid approach works best: use theater-of-the-mind for the narrative flow and insert key mechanical checkpoints or mass-combat rules to provide structure, plus optional scenes that zoom in on individual characters during pivotal moments.

Using a unified initiative can keep all players engaged. Allow some flexibility with time to ensure players not in combat can still participate meaningfully.

Q: Should DMs inform players if the next session focuses on their character?
It's a good idea to give players a heads up without revealing too much detail, allowing for surprise elements in the session while prompting players to prepare for engagement.
