  • Came for RPGs, Left for Political Nonsense

I originally came to this podcast because I really enjoy Kelly’s channel “Power Word Spill.” This podcast has a very interesting format, fun atmosphere and banter, and interesting information regarding RPG games—as advertised. Where it derails is the cohost hyping “queer-coded,” “minority-created,” “anticaptialist” games and violent antifa promotion. This is like nails on a chalkboard for anyone with any common sense. I’m not trying to tell these podcasters what kind of content to run—to each hi... more

I’ve recently started playing D&D, and naturally went hunting for podcasts to learn and get inspired. There are loads out there, but nothing really clicked for me—until We Like D&D. Great audio quality, engaging content, and the hosts come across as genuinely friendly and fun. 5 stars—highly recommended to everyone! Greetings from Belgium!

  • Great show for DMs

He guys, love the show! I especially loved the segment in the June episode where you made the campaign setting, it gave me so many ideas of things to add to my campaigns. I also love getting to hear all the different things you guys bring to show and tell. Have you considered splitting each segment into its own episode and releasing them weekly instead of one big episode monthly? That would make it easier to listen back through specific segments and also give you guys a better idea of what peopl... more

  • Really Enjoyable!

I have really been enjoying this show. I love the different segments, a great way to mix up the time and not focus on something else. But my favorite is probably the Show and Tell. It is awesome to discover new resources! Keep up the good work. And maybe consider “kiwi” for your word bank.

Westerns, Witches, and D&D in a Movie Theatre
Q: What's your opinion on the best ways to end a campaign?
It largely depends on future intentions. If wanting a sequel, throwing in a twist can be effective. However, for a satisfying close, allow characters to have resolutions and happy endings.
Westerns, Witches, and D&D in a Movie Theatre
Q: How can I end a final boss fight to make it more satisfying and cinematic for my players and I?
Consider using heavy descriptions after the battle and enhancing the moment with music to create a cinematic feel. Increase tension leading up to the boss fight to ensure a better payoff when the boss is finally defeated.
Oops, All Shrek Party
Q: How do I implement Modular Magic Items in a one-shot?
Limit the number of abilities and allow players to select only basic options in one-shots to avoid overwhelming them, ensuring the game remains enjoyable and manageable.
Oops, All Shrek Party
Q: How do I get less experienced players more involved?
It's essential first to understand if they're content with their level of involvement or if they want to participate more. Encouraging direct communication and setting up smaller role-playing interactions can help bridge the gap.
