  • Too many interruptions by host

Some tell that John guy to shut up. Constantly talking and interrupting people. So annoying and inappropriate

  • Entertaining and Informative

I stumbled across this podcast about a month and a half ago. Since then I have listened to almost every episode and repeated a few. I am preparing for VCP certification and some of the episode have been a tremendous help with that endeavor.

  • Elevated discourse

I enjoy this podcast. It has the usual cast of characters/guests doing the rounds on these enterprise tech podcasts from NetApp Communities (now Tech ONTAP), Geek Whisperers, Speaking in Tech, et al. The hosts and guests get to build their careers and I get to learn from them because they love to talk and share. More importantly, Virtually Speaking has clean language, and a more elevated discourse, which only adds credence to the discussion and content. Keep up the good work, Pete.

What Enterprises Get Wrong About Kubernetes
Q: Where do people go wrong with Kubernetes? Like how do they get started?
Myles suggests the core issue is trying to do everything themselves and maintaining a DIY mindset; true value comes from recognizing the need for established patterns, pipelines, and ongoing maintenance rather than one-off setups.
What's New in vSAN for VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1
Q: What's new with compression in this release?
A new tunable ZStandard (ZSTD) compression algorithm is introduced alongside continued LZ4 usage; the compression is now cluster-based rather than VM-based, offering end users a simpler, always-on data reduction capability with clear visibility of the data reduction impact.
What's New in vSAN for VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1
Q: What are the main reasons to keep using traditional storage policies when Auto RAID exists?
Storage policies still exist for specific cases, but Auto RAID delegates resilience settings to the system, allowing a single policy to manage multiple clusters and automatically apply optimal resilience without manual tuning, which reduces complexity especially at scale.
Lessons from an Upgrade to VCF 9
Q: If you had to give somebody any advice that's going through the upgrade to VCF 9 or 9.0, what recommendations would you give?
Coordinate early with other teams to ensure cross-functional cooperation, invest heavily in planning to define clear objectives, and treat the upgrade as a staged, low-risk trial for the workloads before full migration.
Introducing VCF 9.1: Built for Efficiency and Resilience
Q: What are the key platform capabilities that support AI workloads in 9.1?
9.1 expands GPU virtualization, memory and storage optimization via virtualization, and integrated Kubernetes services, including Argo CD for deployment, plus a broader solution catalog and long-term support to keep Kubernetes updates current.
