  • Phlegm and Swallowing

I am a regular. The content is good. I listen to almost every show. However, there have been times when I just could not listen to the whole show because the constant sounds of sniffing and swallowing and congestive sticky phlegm in my ears was so distracting and viscerally repulsive that I just couldn’t get past it. Please, I’m begging you, find a solution or strategy for this. I want to hear your perspective on the industry, but may own visceral response to these distracting noises is making i... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AI, Data Centers, and the Power Crunch
Q: What is the technology discussion that you guys are having day in and day out, and what are people pushing you to achieve?
The focus is on workload-driven optimization that balances power allocation, cooling, GPU utilization, and SLAs to maximize compute per megawatt, with digital twins and scheduling improving utilization and extending the value of existing infrastructure.
The Zero-CVE Mirage: Hardening Software in the Age of AI Attacks
Q: How does Chainguard intend to help customers responsibly adopt AI and manage risk in the software supply chain?
Chainguard focuses on building safer, provenance-backed processes from source to distribution, developing hardened artifacts, and providing governance mechanisms such as carefully scoped agent tooling, sandboxed CI environments, and reconciler-based architectures to prevent large-scale breaches and CVE propagation.
The Zero-CVE Mirage: Hardening Software in the Age of AI Attacks
Q: What are the most important lessons learned over the last year as Chainguard scales AI automation and security?
The single most important lesson is enabling people to learn and experiment with these tools now, because those who embrace them early become much more effective; the final form isn't known, but fundamentals like safe agent orchestration, least-privilege operations, and continuous learning are essential foundations.
Halt & Retool: Rewriting Software Development in the Age of AI Agents
Q: What does harness engineering look like in practice at Sailplane?
Harness engineering is the discipline of managing the SDLC for AI-assisted development, creating efficient pipelines, and documenting failures to improve the harness so agents can do more with less supervision, ultimately increasing velocity and reducing code rot.
Halt & Retool: Rewriting Software Development in the Age of AI Agents
Q: How did you persuade the team to stop work, and what happened after that pause?
The team was challenged to stop working to reset attention and align on faster, more productive workflows; this pause led to a surge in productivity, a shift to harness-based work, and the creation of bold statements about future coding—like developers not writing or reading code within a year.
