  • Ai

I’m horrified that they were allowed to do this. I find it interesting that in the blurb they don’t mention that Michael Parkinson is dead and that this is AI. They just talk about his “legacy”. If I could give this no stars I would. I think Parkinson would be disgusted.

  • Great interviews

I have found the interviews really interesting and the discussions with the tech team afterwards even more so. Without ad libs or an agenda on the part of the interviewer, the guests have time to give genuine, thoughtful responses.

  • Don’t understand the negativity, it’s something unique and different.

While this concept might be viewed as controversial, having listened to Chris McCausland’s interview, I think it actually works well. It’s something different that uses the latest technologies with a familiar old voice that people enjoyed for 50 plus years, with the blessing of his son.

Just because it’s new, the older generation can’t seem to grasp that times change and automatically give it one star just because they think it’s “immoral” very strange attitude.

Embrace new technology with a... more

  • Too scripted

The very nature of an AI generated voice is the interview is very scripted with no interesting off the cuff follow ups. So as a performance it’s well done, as a series of interviews it falls way off the mark.

  • Falls short

I was quite interested in the concept, however the format and execution felt underwhelming. With so many brilliant podcasts around I don’t think I’ll be listening to other eps. Sorry.

  • Too fast

After seeing recent Parkinson interviews on TV the AI generated voice is very good, however it does seem too fast & doesn’t reflect the ‘personality’ of the person. I also question if his personality is reflected in the style/tone of the questions chosen.

All in all a good effort but needs tweaking.

  • So interesting

What makes this so good is the discussion that comes afterwards on how well ‘AI Parky’ handled the interview and how it can be improved for next time. The questioning in the interviews is a bit formulaic (they are working on that!) but still does get some interesting responses from the interviewees. Well worth a listen if you are fascinated by AI.

  • Fascinating Experiment

Whatever else this is, it isn't (to quote one of several one-star reviews) a "money grab". It's a serious exploration of what it means to be interviewed and how much the personality of an interviewer matters in an age of looming AI. For those not interested in hearing an amazingly lifelike AI Michael Parkinson, or the insights offered into the interviewee, the last minutes are a discussion of the performance of the technology.

  • Genuinely impressed

This is a great use of AI and it’s lovely to hear Parky’s dulcet tones again.

  • Sounds like…but

Sounds like Parky, but it’s not interactive with the guest. Just a guy shouting questions at someone with no line of thought, no follow up on points raised. Nothing interesting picked out here and we learn nothing new.

Interesting project though. Lacks warmth and depth.

There is absolutely no need to make an AI podcast. We all love Michael Parkinson but they did not need to do this.
