  • Invaluable information, please come back!

I’m a career changer from healthcare to UX, and found a love for user research. We touched on it briefly in my graduate degree UXD program, but I was seeking as much information as I could to continue developing my knowledge to strengthen my confidence and skills. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S3-E3: Why Coaching and Mentoring UXR Matter: A conversation with Javier Bargas-Avila
Q: What does growth mean beyond promotions, and how should someone early in their career approach it?
Growth should be defined personally; it often means learning new skills, expanding impact, and finding meaningful work, not just climbing titles. For many, promotions follow when they focus on meaningful contributions and continuous learning rather than chasing a title alone.
S3-E3: Why Coaching and Mentoring UXR Matter: A conversation with Javier Bargas-Avila
Q: From Google to coaching, what is this transition and what does it mean for you?
The transition is rooted in a desire to keep helping people grow and avoid the politics of large organizations; coaching and mentoring allow me to remove the negative aspects of a director role while amplifying the positive impact of developing people and guiding careers.
