Hi! We are Christy and Edith, backyard gardeners from Colorado. Lately, we have noticed more and more people picking our brains for tips and trouble-shooting about gardening. We think it’s kinda funny, because we’re not experts. We just learned a lot about gardening from the mistakes we made along the way. You always hear about Victory gardens – but what about all the garden failures? Gardening is... more

Whether or not you like gardening, this show is a delight. (Hopefully you’re at least gardening-curious.)
The production is first rate. The recording and editing are effortless. The theme song (and its occasional variations) has the perfect amount of eye-wink. And the planning and research is top-notch.

I discovered this podcast in summer 2021. I’d been working from home for over a year because of Covid, and was gardening because I had the time, and it was a very zen activity for me. But I knew so little! Christy and Edith provide “infotainment” in the best way. I’ve listened and re-listened to every episode, and used it as a guide for experimentation in the garden and further research.
Don’t tell the Department of Labor, but $2 of my monthly pandemic unemployment is now going to the delightful makers of “Upside Down Tulips.” By teaching me how to grow my own food, they will be saving me much more than $2 a month, so the state can just think of it as an investment with many happy returns.
Whenever life gets dark, I listen to these ladies! Their bubbly enthusiasm is like sun for my soul. I close my eyes and pretend I’m with them in a garden—and I’m drinking wine while they do all the work.
It’s 81 here today. The farmers are planting corn now. Your show is getting me in a yard mood.
