The Dolls Podcast spotlights ladies from the 60s and 70s who inspire cohosts Emma Rosa Katharina and Abigail Devoe. With each episode they’ll share the story of one actress, activist, musician, groupie, or fashion icon, with the purpose of proving her lasting influence. They may have lived in the time of the Whiskey A Go-Go and Studio 54, but celebrating the women of yesterday still matters today.... more

I have been listening to this podcast since the beginning. Emma and Abby have grown so much from the beginning, and you can tell how much more comfortable they have become doing a podcast. Their incorporation of music in the episodes have exposed me to more songs and artist all while adding to the experience of listening. Seeing them being able to get interviews with the subjects of some episodes also adds a great personal touch to the stories. I have re-listened to so many episode just because ... more
Probably better had they just remained Swifties. asserting obnixious modern finger wagging cancel culture onto the 60's. they will gush over some hedonistic Rock n' Roll story, then in the next breath admonish someone for similar behavior. pattern of terrible double standard. favoring women over men. Let’s get real here. I’m a 60+ man who has spent my life throwing myself into the dude-centric world of 60s and 70s rock and roll. These two women have opened up a window on that era that until now has remained closed. They bring a fresh perspective on women who at the time were same age as they were and in a way no male can. Well researched, heart-felt and a times endearingly flippant and vulnerable. Emma and Abi are worth a listen.
I usually don’t like it when podcast hosts are clearly reading from a script, but in this case, I would actually prefer that they did. Too much little-girl sleepover giggling, too much lack of research to confirm facts before stating them in the podcast, etc. Girls and women have idolized the subjects of the podcast for generations—but this showcase isn’t doing those ladies any favors. Needs more maturity, more research, and more professionalism. Try to stay on the topic that listeners were draw... more
Really disappointed with the recent Cynthia Lennon episode and the hosts’ minimizing of John Lennon’s domestic violence. They insist it was only “one incident” and to broadly judge him as a “wife beater” is unfair. There are many many incidents of domestic violence perpetrated by John Lennon, including rupturing a toddler Sean Lennon’s ear drum by screaming in his face. For a show that purportedly celebrates unsung or background women, I was very disappointed by this take.
