  • Perimenopausing Unladylike

The framing of your perimenopause episode insults women like myself who have dealt with ten years heavy periods, fatigue, cognitive disfunction, dis-regulated emotions, sleep deprivation, and sweat poring from our bodies. Sure, capitalism will gobble up any problem and offer its snake oil “solutions”. Show a little more respect and do your research before you pose snarky little polls like “is perimenopause real?” Unfollowing after this one.

  • ADHD Episode

I just listened to the adhd episode and I am a young woman. It just made me feel such empathy but also gratefulness because I was diagnosed in middle school with ADHD inattentive and I take medication for it, but when I don’t take my meds I feel just as all those women describe it’s like spacey and just feels like focusing is either stone cold (hyper fixation) or it’s legit impossible and feels like gears grinding and it’s so mentally and emotionally draining! I really love that this is being ta... more

  • No she did NOT spend an hour saying Not All Men

Just heard the breadwives (sic) episode. That was some manpoligizing “oh my husband is the good kind” dreck. Hard unsubscribe.

To be helpful: Stop talking about men. Stop talking about men. Stop talking about men. You haven’t healed yet.

  • Wow

Racism is not defined as prejudice against black and brown people. Please learn how to use a dictionary. The only group that can be publicly humiliated, dehumanized and demonized in America right now (and has been for a while) are people of paler complexities, in other words white people, which your last episode just proved, white people aren’t being replaced but it’s good that white people are being replaced (I summarized part of your episode for you). Past injustices do not justify a new se... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Secret Unwed Mothers of the Baby Scoop Era with Tracy Clark-Flory
Q: What motivated you to explore your mother's past and the family secrets around adoption?
The motivation came from a long-standing curiosity about a missing piece—why certain memories didn't fit the story I had been told, and how discovering a long-lost sister would illuminate the true history of the mother and the experiences of women at the time.
It’s not Hysteria! from Dr. Karen Tang and The Second Opinion
Q: What are some reasons why someone would not be a good candidate for minimally invasive surgery?
Candidates for minimally invasive surgery may be limited by factors such as the size of the condition being treated, medical complexities, or other health considerations.
Selling the Tradwife Dream (and So Many Supplements) with Jo Piazza
Q: How did you go about, though, even approaching tradwives to interview?
Jo Piazza explains that her extensive background in reporting on social media and influencers makes her an appealing figure for Tradwives to open up to, as she aims to understand their lives without judgment.
Gender War Games Pt. 2: The New Purity Culture with Cadence Dubus
Q: Do you find that this cognitive dissonance of all this mixed messaging and internalized guilt has been disproportionately affecting women compared to men?
Yes, women are disproportionately targeted by societal pressures regarding body image, leading to confusion and restriction in self-care.
Why Are Women So Scared of Sex Trafficking?
Q: Why have these narratives of sex trafficking gained such traction in recent years?
The narratives resonate with societal anxieties during times of change, such as the COVID-19 pandemic or the Me Too movement, reflecting deeper fears and desires to externalize these anxieties.
