The tradwife influencer era is over, but judging by Yesteryear mania, our cultural obsession with its aestheticized submission persists even as it erases. Writer Cynthia Salinas Cappellano talks to Cristen about why the stay-at-home fantasy doesn’t e... more

The framing of your perimenopause episode insults women like myself who have dealt with ten years heavy periods, fatigue, cognitive disfunction, dis-regulated emotions, sleep deprivation, and sweat poring from our bodies. I really love that this is being ta... more
Just heard the breadwives (sic) episode. That was some manpoligizing “oh my husband is the good kind” dreck. Hard unsubscribe.

Past injustices do not justify a new se... more

Across recent episodes, the show scrutinizes how culture, media, and policy shape modern womanhood through a feminist lens. Topics span from the commercialization of health and aging (perimenopause and wellness markets) to gendered narratives in media, politics, and dating culture. Guests and deep dives are used to unpack power dynamics, bias, and everyday sexism, often centering intersectional perspectives and calls for more nuanced discourse. Notable strengths include rigorous research, thoughtful critiques of popular narratives, and a willingness to tackle controversial topics with nuance and wit.
