  • My fav lil podcast

I enjoy the new hosts and am glad Amanda was able to diversify the perspectives with these collaborative folks. Reese is amazing but Chelsea is my favorite addition. I know there is also a fourth person joining and I’m excited to hear their perspectives too! I also think this podcast so educated and well researched. And I enjoy how cults have different scales of culti-ness and how there’s a lot of calling in vs calling out when it comes to explaining difficult topics.

  • Love this podcast!

This podcast has helped put to rest a lot of anxieties I have about culty subjects by picking them apart and shedding light on all the BS. I love being informed!! Now please do an episode on the cult of Rolex, because I’m hearing men talk of “grey market” value and all this other blah blah. Help!!!

  • Unbearable intonation and vocal fry

One of the hosts has unbearable intonation and vocal fry.

It’s jarring to listen to - please work on this as it makes for a very unpleasant listening experience!

  • Cult of Stagehands?

You’ve covered a cult of theater, but a union of theater stagehands has got the be one of the most cultiest industries. It’s almost as if the old guard kinship of the union and the traditions of theater, combined with the skill hierarchies of a craft trade feed into each other, so much so that its segregated itself from broader industry norms in terms of safety and SOPs. Just a thought!

Fortesa Latifi introduces herself as a journalist in Los Angeles and explains her deep dive into kidfluency for her upcoming book, reflecting on how early family blogs and the rise of platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok shaped the current landscape of child influencers.
The Cult of OneTaste, Creepy Church of Orgasms
Q: How did Nicole Day-Done position herself within the group to appear both a guru and a CEO?
She blended spiritual leadership with traditional startup entrepreneurship, giving TEDx talks, speaking at SXSW, hosting conferences, and writing a book, thereby presenting herself as a modern female leader while evangelizing a wellness business.

The use of contemporary yet confusing terms often alienates newcomers, making them feel fragile.
The Cult of Pilates
Q: How would you describe that cult-like mindset?
It parallels religious mindset a lot where you justify actions based on what Joseph Pilates would approve rather than focusing on clients' actual needs.
