  • One of my favorite podcasts!

I use this podcast to make myself do work, it's always fun and engaging, I love hearing different perspectives on popular topics and seeing how they can be considered culty! Love how fun all the topics are, and it's really easy to listen to!

  • Reasonably Good

Some episodes are great. Even for topics I don’t know anything about they can be good. I feel like the quality of the episode depends on the experts or people with first had experience that they get. Not always my favorite or well done but reasonably good episodes and a perfectly fine background podcast.

  • I’m waiting for balance

Not a bad pod but the lack of balance is starting to wear thin. Sure, do shows on the Manosphere, MAGA etc but your bias is showing. How about covering the cult of progressives or trans I dare you.

  • Rarely depth or research anymore

It has some strong episodes especially when they have a guest who has firsthand experience about the “cult” or if they do good research. Other times the guests talk about random stuff and I get nothing out of the episode except for a ton of ads. When it started, I listened consistently, but now it’s much more disappointing. Wish there was more consistent depth.

  • Sounds Like a Cult may be a cult

I’d listened to a handful of episodes, and basically enjoyed them. However, I just listened to the manosphere ep, and it was a largely wandering, kjnd of mean, discussion about the inadequacies of all men, with borscht belt jokes about how we can’t live our lives without women caring for and feeding us. Maybe 10% of the ep was incisive, thoughtful commentary.

There were no men on the show about men, and it started me thinking about how many of the other episodes were in bad faith, but I just d... more
