  • Camelot carries on

when it comes to any media covering the Kennedy family, it seems to fall into two categories: vetted (or vying to be) by the Kennedy clan and given their attention in a positive way; or salacious gossip (generally but not always with very little basis in reality). This pretends to be the latter while falling firmly into the former. The glossing over of harm by the men in this family is particularly odious, followed closely by the ad count and duration. I hate listen and argue against the persist... more

  • Meh

I like the recaps of movies and the first few episodes where you actually address historical moments but that’s about it like idk it lacks focus it feels like you want to refer to modern times too often. Why are we talking about Mamdani when it’s Kennedy fashion. I just think discussing fashion is HARD when there’s no visual media like I just wanted more depth actual fashion talk.

  • Mistakenly mention wrong book title/author

In the repeat episode on December 15, they mentioned a book supposedly called “happily ever after“ by Candace Bergen. There is no such book. I think they were referring to the book by Elizabeth Beller called “Once Upon a Time.”

  • It gets better!

Shaky start with the first few episodes as the limits of the hosts own knowledge of their subject and their very specific generational cultural references (the Olsen Twins?) strike a listener who doesn’t share them as bafflingly inconsequential, BUT the guests are mostly really good - geniunely well-informed, serious journalists and historians. By the time George is hosting solo (and has more research under his belt) the episodes are much more satisfying and contain real insights and illuminatio... more

  • Honestly? I love it

I came here from George’s other podcast Striaghtiolab, expecting this to be more comedy. It’s not but that’s okay - it’s great!! I’ve been gorging on this. They have knowledgeable legitimate guests and the hosts strike a good balance of informed but casual. It’s not a daunting research podcast because these topics have been exhausted anyways. This still manages to be fresh and it’s very approachable because they are fascinated themselves. I also really like that they cover all of the various Ken... more
