外観
7000系の時と比較してあまり変化はありませんが、雨樋が新たに設けられています。また、屋根上に新たに設置された冷房装置は東急9000系のものと同一ですが、そのカバーは営団地下鉄(現在の東京メトロ)日比谷線の車両限界に対応するために、側面を斜めに削った形状となっています。

20 m両開き4扉、窓間に戸袋窓2枚、1枚下降窓2枚を、車端部に戸袋窓と1枚下降窓各1枚を備える基本配置、基本寸法は6000系と同様だが、窓がサッシレスになるとともに隅に丸みを設け、やさしさを出している。ステンレス車で戸袋窓を備えるのは珍しく、7000系登場当時の紹介記事には「20 mの軽量ステンレス車では全国初」と記載されている。幕板部中央には 車側灯を挟んで種別表示装置と行先表示装置が配置されている。
