Seth is the best, he will scramble your eggs, and get you thinking, laughing, and sometimes angry. He is humble, kind and witty. Give him a listen and see for yourself.

  • Even my wife loves it!

I started listening to TheThinkingAtheist to kill time during my 60 min commute. But I have found Seth so entertaining that I have shared several episodes with my family, and they are now fans, too!

My children now request this, or the TrueStories podcast, when we are traveling together. It helps that my ten year old often cracks hilarious jokes about how ridiculous religion is, which we can’t help but laugh out loud at, despite whispering to him, “Maybe not here!”

Seven to ten percent of people believe the earth is flat. Your “friend” fits into that category. Low brain power? Lack of empathy? Lives in a dream world? It helps to ask them more questions. But ultimately, is having a relationship with them worth it?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A Spiritual Atheist? (with Britt Hartley)
Q: How do you define the term religion?
Religion is essentially what orients you in the universe, providing meaning and community, whether or not it involves belief in a deity.
A Spiritual Atheist? (with Britt Hartley)
Q: How much pushback do you get from atheists?
I get pushback from everyone. There's pushback from religious people and also from atheists who think we shouldn't engage with spirituality at all.
A Spiritual Atheist? (with Britt Hartley)
Q: How do you define spiritual?
Spirituality for me is connection to your deepest self and then connection outside of self, which can include nature or humanity, but doesn't need a supernatural element.
Rage Against the Bunny
Q: Why do you identify as an atheist rather than an agnostic?
I'm kind of both. Agnostic is, I don't know that there might not be something out there somewhere. I am atheist because I simply don't believe that there is.
The Bible EXPLODED! (part two)
Q: Is there a tribal distinction then? I mean, the difference between chattel and debt slave, did that usually come down to whether they were Israelites or whether they were foreigners?
Yes, there's a significant difference in the treatment of Israelites versus foreigners in the Bible.
