My absolute favorite podcast! Tuesday morning is the best because of this podcast. Born and raised in Tulsa – so it’s really nice to hear him. Mention places I know first hand! I come from an ultra Methodist family, and almost every topic can be paralleled in my own life! He gives a very detailed perspective into the life of an ex Christian. Certainly would recommend!
I’ve heard Seth before on other pods, but only listened to the most recent episode this morning. His monologue reflected many of my own thoughts, but much more articulately. Seth, it’s absolutely good to write when you’re angry.
Seth is the best, he will scramble your eggs, and get you thinking, laughing, and sometimes angry. He is humble, kind and witty. Give him a listen and see for yourself.
I started listening to TheThinkingAtheist to kill time during my 60 min commute. But I have found Seth so entertaining that I have shared several episodes with my family, and they are now fans, too!
My children now request this, or the TrueStories podcast, when we are traveling together. It helps that my ten year old often cracks hilarious jokes about how ridiculous religion is, which we can’t help but laugh out loud at, despite whispering to him, “Maybe not here!”
He’ll learn! Figuring out wh... more

The show features thoughtful, skeptical discussions centered on religion, belief, and secular ethics, often challenging religious narratives and exploring the cultural impact of faith. Guests range from humanists and scientists to theologians and critics, with frequent emphasis on deconversion, secularism, and the role of science in public life. The host maintains a measured, candid style and often invites guests who scrutinize religious claims, promote rational inquiry, or advocate for secular governance. A notable pattern is hosting figures who critique religious extremism, discuss constitutional issues around church-state separation, and examine how belief shapes society.
