Really good content. I just listened to today’s episode (#2103). If this is what we get when the guest isn’t available then more guests should drop out! Sensible, inspiring and a great call to action. No issues at all with the frank, direct style of delivery. Keep up the good work.

  • Daily motivational brilliance!

I’ve listened to enough of your podcasts to know you don’t consider yourself a motivational speaker, but you still deliver.

I love your insight, your warmth, your humour and the fact that they aren’t afraid to tell it as it is! I love the daily opportunity for a reality check and the frequent reminders to get out of my own way. I can’t say I’ve followed your advice to the letter, but Im getting better

Thanks for keeping me company during many hours of training

  • Brilliant

Your guest spot on Andrew May’s PI podcast completely resonated with me. Have listened to a couple of your other podcasts, I’m hooked. How we look at aging, retirement, age appropriate, the commentary around starting a PhD at 55, etc are all culturally driven narrative, which reflects also in how we treat our aged population. I’m hooked, your podcast is what I have been looking for, it is entertaining and motivating, and I look forward to seeing the completed thesis. Thanks

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#2153 Inside The Mind Of Addiction - Mick Hall
Q: How did your prison experience shape your thinking and approach to life after release?
The experience showed that thinking is limited and external help can be crucial; it taught me to seek mental stability, plan strategically, and prioritize thriving over merely surviving.
#2145 Mark From Brisbane Asks... - Dr. Jeff Gross
Q: Rob from Adelaide asks for an explanation of stem cell therapy at a basic level.
Dr. Jeff describes stem cell therapy as rekindling youthful repair capacity by leveraging the body's healing potential and addressing inflammatory damage accumulated over years, with a focus on how this might help repair or slow aging in tissues.
#2145 Mark From Brisbane Asks... - Dr. Jeff Gross
Q: Pete from Druan asks about anti-aging BS and practical steps to slow aging.
Dr. Jeff relays that anti-aging begins with foundational habits learned from his grandmother—sleep, nutrition, and routine physical activity—while modern science explores cellular and mitochondrial factors and how behavior mods longevity. Workable anti-aging strategies involve consistent healthy practices, not quick fixes.
#2145 Mark From Brisbane Asks... - Dr. Jeff Gross
Q: Mark from Brisbane asks if he is a candidate for regenerative treatments for a bulging disc and back pain.
Dr. Jeff explains that bulges are common and often not painful; the decision hinges on MRI specifics, symptoms, and correlating findings. A temporary, diagnostic epidural injection may help determine if the disc is the pain source, and if so, regenerative options could be considered alongside lifestyle and exercise strategies.
#2118 Inherited Family Trauma - Mark Wolynn
Q: How long has this area of research been around, and how has the science evolved?
Early foundations were sparse, but around 2015 human studies and more robust data began to accumulate, expanding from animal models to human studies, with recent work on war-related violence and partner violence showing intergenerational epigenetic signatures.
