Really good content. I just listened to today’s episode (#2103). If this is what we get when the guest isn’t available then more guests should drop out! Sensible, inspiring and a great call to action. No issues at all with the frank, direct style of delivery. Keep up the good work.

  • Daily motivational brilliance!

I’ve listened to enough of your podcasts to know you don’t consider yourself a motivational speaker, but you still deliver.

I love your insight, your warmth, your humour and the fact that they aren’t afraid to tell it as it is! I love the daily opportunity for a reality check and the frequent reminders to get out of my own way. I can’t say I’ve followed your advice to the letter, but Im getting better

Thanks for keeping me company during many hours of training

  • Brilliant

Your guest spot on Andrew May’s PI podcast completely resonated with me. Have listened to a couple of your other podcasts, I’m hooked. How we look at aging, retirement, age appropriate, the commentary around starting a PhD at 55, etc are all culturally driven narrative, which reflects also in how we treat our aged population. I’m hooked, your podcast is what I have been looking for, it is entertaining and motivating, and I look forward to seeing the completed thesis. Thanks

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#2222 Is Your Mind the Problem or the Solution? - Dr. Cam McDonald
Q: What practical steps did you take to undo limiting beliefs and reframe experiences?
The process involved going into subconscious memories, re-narrating childhood or past experiences, and then actively recognizing and celebrating when old negative pathways are not chosen; he describes creating 'creek beds' and actively rewriting them, plus sharing progress with the group to reinforce new patterns.
#2222 Is Your Mind the Problem or the Solution? - Dr. Cam McDonald
Q: What are your thoughts about the Carlton turnaround; is it as amazing as it sounds, or is there more behind the change?
Cam explains that the turnaround likely stems from shifts in team dynamics, emotions, and collective state, not physical changes; the coach's ability to reframe and unify the group created a new operating environment that allowed performance to surge, suggesting the 'one percent' improvements can compound massively in a short period when psychology and culture align.
#2221 Peptides: Bullsh*t or Medicine? - Dr. Jeff Gross
Q: So what it's meant to do, semaglutide?
It's meant to suppress appetite, aid weight loss, improve glucose control, and offer cardiometabolic benefits; the doctors acknowledge wide use but caution about expectations.
#2214 The Evolving Addiction Landscape - Mick Hall
Q: How should someone approach supporting a friend or loved one in early recovery?
Encourage seeking professional help, maintain nonjudgmental support, and help them avoid high-risk environments; reconnect gradually and focus on rebuilding healthy routines and relationships.
#2214 The Evolving Addiction Landscape - Mick Hall
Q: Is addiction primarily about the substance or the person?
It's about the person; substances are conduits. Addiction stems from an individual's neurochemical wiring and emotional needs, with the substance simply one vehicle to achieve relief or altered states.
