Really good content. I just listened to today’s episode (#2103). If this is what we get when the guest isn’t available then more guests should drop out! Sensible, inspiring and a great call to action. No issues at all with the frank, direct style of delivery. Keep up the good work.

  • Daily motivational brilliance!

I’ve listened to enough of your podcasts to know you don’t consider yourself a motivational speaker, but you still deliver.

I love your insight, your warmth, your humour and the fact that they aren’t afraid to tell it as it is! I love the daily opportunity for a reality check and the frequent reminders to get out of my own way. I can’t say I’ve followed your advice to the letter, but Im getting better

Thanks for keeping me company during many hours of training

  • Brilliant

Your guest spot on Andrew May’s PI podcast completely resonated with me. Have listened to a couple of your other podcasts, I’m hooked. How we look at aging, retirement, age appropriate, the commentary around starting a PhD at 55, etc are all culturally driven narrative, which reflects also in how we treat our aged population. I’m hooked, your podcast is what I have been looking for, it is entertaining and motivating, and I look forward to seeing the completed thesis. Thanks

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#2118 Inherited Family Trauma - Mark Wolynn
Q: How long has this area of research been around, and how has the science evolved?
Early foundations were sparse, but around 2015 human studies and more robust data began to accumulate, expanding from animal models to human studies, with recent work on war-related violence and partner violence showing intergenerational epigenetic signatures.
#2118 Inherited Family Trauma - Mark Wolynn
Q: Inherited family trauma is what exactly?
It's the idea that trauma experienced by one generation can influence the biology and behavior of later generations through epigenetic mechanisms like DNA methylation, histone changes, and non-coding RNA, which can alter gene expression and stress responses.
#2117 Q & A With Dr Jeff Gross
Q: Is there a role for hormone optimization in managing inflammatory or degenerative conditions?
Hormone optimization can be a piece of the puzzle, especially in peri/post-menopausal individuals; goals and preferences should guide whether to pursue such therapy to improve energy, mood, and overall well-being.
#2112 Three Wise Monkeys (With Issues) - Bobby Cappuccio
Q: How do we navigate eating and drinking when socializing in Australia?
As you were started to talk about that, I was thinking... if I have a brownie when I'm with people, I don't want it. But when I'm alone, all of a sudden, I have to eat it.
#2112 Three Wise Monkeys (With Issues) - Bobby Cappuccio
Q: What's your training philosophy or protocol now at almost 52 with a few injuries?
I do basically two on one day off training; a push-pull routine that feels nice for me.
