Came here from Severance coverage. I must say I’m new to the fantasy genre and I am pleasantly that I can tolerate nerdy white dudes talking fantasy (sorry). But I do! I trust them, I like the overall understatedness and lack of gimmick. A perfect companion podcast. (I’m on S2 just realized Elysia is on S3 & can’t wait for that also!)

They can not remove their political bias when reviewing a fantasy show based on fantasy books. I tried to listen to a few episodes, but everything is viewed through politically tinted glasses.
Elysia and John know more about the books than I do, and they are reviewing the show as an adaptation to appreciate it for what it is rather than being overly critical of it for diverging from the books, so I want to like the podcast, but they don’t have good chemistry. I feel like I’m in Sunday school as a kid when I hear the episode summaries from Elysia and John doesn’t sound like he wants to be there. The show is hitting its stride and continues to improve.
