  • Not feeling Well without Claire

No offence at all to Grace but won’t be listening to this podcast after the disgraceful dumping of Claire.

  • Well Grace Lam

I am so saddened to hear that the beautiful, funny, wonderful Grace Lam has experienced revolting racism. This Aussie loves you and looks forward to hearing you next on Unhinged. Thank you for your words on Well.

  • Beginners level medicine and treats us like gulliable fools

Disappointing podcast, but I suppose I should not have expected much from mamamia which is a biased outlet for news and information and has always been incapable of presenting both sides of any argument. The two hosts are fully captured by the medical narrative and have not asked questions that challenge this, they simply chose to believe and cite what they have been told, rather than asking questions or doing independent research. I hope one day to receive a public apology from these two women... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

There's Plastic In Our Bodies. Now What?
Q: Is it the same hormonal shifts in terms of the weight we should be giving it as perimenopause and menopause?
Yes, the hormonal shifts during matrescence share similarities with perimenopause, including estrogen fluctuations that can affect mood, sleep, and overall well-being.
There's Plastic In Our Bodies. Now What?
Q: Mariam, is matrescence a medical term or a social media trend?
Matrescence is a real term describing the transition to motherhood, with a biological and developmental basis, though it has been popularized in social media as well; it frames the change as a developmental process similar to adolescence.
The Pelvic Floor Conversation We Need To Have
Q: What can be viewed during a gynae check?
The clinician primarily focuses on the cervix and vagina for screening, with the vulva and anus visible but not actively examined unless relevant; the emphasis is on obtaining a good swab sample and using proper technique, not on judging the patient's body.
You’re Not 22…But STIs Aren't Over
Q: Do we have any idea in Australia what's happening to impact those STI numbers, and how bad is it getting?
STIs are rising, with particular concern around syphilis and rapid changes in incidence; public health data show increases and the need for vigilant testing and targeted prevention efforts.
Your Libido Didn’t Disappear, It's The Mental Load
Q: What are the most common reasons women lose desire, and how is this different from men?
Common reasons include relationship dynamics, hormonal factors, emotional stress, and health issues; women may require more emotional and contextual triggers than men, whose arousal can be more spontaneous.
