    I really liked the show when it was the weeds, but since rebranding as Explain it to me, I’ve found it be less intellectually stimulating. As others have said, recent episodes have felt like filler. For me ultimately, the final straw was the way that AI has been talked about in the TWO separate episodes dedicated to it. Considering all the Claude, etc ads, it makes the whole episode feel like a promotion for a product that’s destroying our water supply, stealing our work and ideas, and making it... more

    I love the content in these episodes but every single one mixes music over the topic SO loud that I have to turn it down and strain to hear what the person is saying. Basically every transition I miss the last paragraph of topic.

  • Regular listening for my dad me

    My dad and I love listening to JQ when we have a long drive. We always learn a ton of detail and nuance about all sorts of stuff — from gritty, brutal accounts of robo texting to lighter episodes like some of the dating stuff. We often have to pause the pod and hash things out! I don’t know that my dad and I would be able to talk politics and social issues with JQ holding my hand.
