  • Heated rivalry

My only question is why the L word doesn’t come up in these convos? It’s an amazing show and there is lots of sex. Maybe people will say it’s messier -which might be because the societal bs is still on the shoulders of women.

  • Eh

I really liked the show when it was the weeds, but since rebranding as Explain it to me, I’ve found it be less intellectually stimulating. As others have said, recent episodes have felt like filler. For me ultimately, the final straw was the way that AI has been talked about in the TWO separate episodes dedicated to it. • Loudest Music Ever

I love the content in these episodes but every single one mixes music over the topic SO loud that I have to turn it down and strain to hear what the person is saying. Basically every transition I miss the last paragraph of topic.

  • Regular listening for my dad me

My dad and I love listening to JQ when we have a long drive. We always learn a ton of detail and nuance about all sorts of stuff — from gritty, brutal accounts of robo texting to lighter episodes like some of the dating stuff. We often have to pause the pod and hash things out! I don’t know that my dad and I would be able to talk politics and social issues with JQ holding my hand.

I am so amazed that a short and fun listen like Explain it to Me could encourage us to look critically and really i... more
