  • Great show

Only good Subaru podcast I could find besides one that ended 6 years ago and the audio quality is super poor. This is way better, I’m saving up to buy an 2000’s Impreza WRX Sport Wagon because of this show. I love Subaru and I hope that you guys continue this show.

Great show man, only good Subaru podcast I could find besides one that ended 6 years ago and the audio quality is super poor. This is way better, I’m saving up to buy a WRX because of this show and my dad owning a 2022 Outback.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The next evolution of ARA
Q: What changes could help grow the sport and attract more spectators?
Suggestions include adding spectator-friendly stages at tracks, arena-style finals, better live coverage and drones, celebrity appearances, ride-along experiences for fans, and integrated events with other car culture happenings to build a broader ecosystem around rally.
The next evolution of ARA
Q: Is rally sustainable financially for most teams, and how do sponsorships fit in?
They emphasize that the majority of rally teams are privately funded, with only a handful of top drivers able to monetize through sponsorships or leverage media rights; overall, there isn't much money flowing to the teams, making sponsorships and cost-sharing critical for participation.
The next evolution of ARA
Q: What are the real costs involved in flipping a rally car and attending events like Snowdrift or Olympus?
The guests break down the major expense categories—truck and trailer, Airbnb for groups, tires, entry fees, fuel, octane, media, flights, accommodations, and crew costs—estimating a total around 11.5 thousand dollars to participate in a typical event, with costs increasing if you flip a car or go for newer chassis.
3D Printed Engine Possibilities Part 2
Q: What is the plan for selling 3D-printed oil pans?
The plan is very much exploratory and uncertain; the group discusses liability, testing, and whether production-ready sales are feasible, with emphasis on prototyping and safety through structured testing rather than immediate commercial release.
K swapped Blobeye goes Brrrrr
Q: Where did you source the key components like the roll cage, ECU, and aero, and how did you balance cost with performance?
They sourced the roll cage from AST in Spain, ECU and turbo from Kendall Samuel's shop, and aero parts inspired by Pikes Peak and GT3/Cusco lineage; they leaned on pre-made components to save time and money while accepting the trade-offs of reduced off-the-shelf customization.
