  • No thanks

The Warband Podcast might be one of the most exhausting shows I’ve tried to sit through. The host is so busy defending Blizzard at every turn that the episodes feel less like a podcast and more like a desperate fanboy infomercial. Every controversy magically becomes Blizzard’s fault-but-not-really, and listening to that mental gymnastics routine gets old fast.

Then there’s Chicken, the co-host, who sounds like they’ve transcended boredom and reached a new plane of apathy. It’s like someone hande... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

ep88: Has WoW Become Too Soft and Cozy?
Q: Can you do a tank tier list or compare the different tanks?
They propose to create a tier-list as Patreon content and later publish it publicly, starting with their own impressions (Monk and Blood DK are highlighted) and planning to elaborate for the audience.
ep87: Is Patch 12.0.5 A Total Disaster?
Q: Do you gear for content or content for gear, and how does that balance affect your weekly play?
Both hosts describe a blended approach: raiding for AoTC and social enjoyment, while actively pursuing gear upgrades to enable harder content, though with growing emphasis on enjoying the process and the journey rather than chasing perfect BIS every week.
ep87: Is Patch 12.0.5 A Total Disaster?
Q: Where would you personally want to live in WoW and why—Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, or Outland zones?
Swaglock argues for Negron in Outland or Silvermoon in terms of practical travel to multiple zones, while Chicken weighs accessibility and comfort, ultimately leaning toward a location with quick access and utility like Silvermoon.
ep83: Why Do Some Guilds Still Have Raid Addons In WoW?
Q: From Rak: Should World of Warcraft be better off with Alliance and Horde at war, and should cross-faction play be sacrificed if that returns?
They argue it's possible to bring back faction conflict without losing cross-faction play, preserving identity while allowing friends to group up, with callouts to storytelling opportunities and the potential for more grounded conflicts.
ep79: How Good Of An Expansion Is Midnight? ft. Mothravita
Q: How does the Midnight questing experience compare to The War Within?
Overall, they felt Midnight's questing and its storytelling more engaging and emotionally resonant, with Silver Moon's design and the Sunwell sequence standing out, though some found parts of Harandar and Void Rift less compelling.
