The Wanderer

Short, sweet, and completely unique. I loved the sounds of the forest. I loved the forest’s voice - esp her singing voice. I def did not love the wanderer’s singing, but appreciated how authentic it was, and his guitar music was pretty. I recommend.

This is the best thing to listen to after playing Wanderhome. They really feel like a combo deal to me, omg

Maybe this would have been better with a different Narrator. I couldn’t hear him. It’s like a soft mumble the whole time. I can’t even comprehend what’s happening because I’m trying so hard to understand the Narrator’s pattern of speech, etc. I’ve listened to this Narrator in other stories and didn’t struggle as much. It made me uncomfortable…like something bad was about to happen.

the wanderer is wonderful, throws you in to learn the rules on your own, with a soft sound and incredible story. give it a listen, and you wont regret it

Delightful exploration of the concept in a podcast filled with incredible sound design and voice acting. Well worth a listen and can’t wait to hear more.

I listened to a whole episode and more, because if you have a sense you’re going to pan something, you should give it a chance to get better. It didn’t.

Number one: the music. Sounds like songwriter demos, not actual performances for public consumption. Offkey, weak voice, feeble guitar playing. Competent singer-guitarists are a dime a dozen, please hire one. The narrator is supposed to be a wandering bard, not a 3-chord teenage-angster.

I'm really liking the setting of this podcast, and I can't wait to see where it goes!

Typically I give every podcast a 3 episode listen before subscribing. Against my norm and maybe better judgement, I immediately subscribed to this. I love the premise of this story. I want this to be good. However, my word, this is a snooze fest. It has quite literally put me to sleep. Im going to listen to the 3rd episode when it releases in hopes the narrative gets better and the narrator becomes less monotoned and a little more exciting.

Typically I give every podcast a 3 episode listen before subscribing. Against my norm and maybe better judgement, I immediately subscribed to this. I love the premise of this story. The first word that comes to mind for how to describe Fable and Folly's The Wanderer is "inspired." T. H. Ponders crafts their story about a man who has committed to indefinite wander through a magical forest to keep his love safe in a measured and melodic tone, elegantly scored with music that lets your mind wander (haha) to a place of deep fantasy and contemplation. I never thought that a story inspired by the pandemic and being separated from the ones we love would create a salve for my heart and capture my imagination in the fairy tale we need.
