  • Great motivator

I saw the WARP club suggested on Strava and decided to check it out. So glad that I did!

I’m a busy dad and mostly run solo. I really miss getting out for social runs so found it great to hear the banter and trash talk about local routes.

Since listening to the podcast I’ve found myself to be more intentional with my runs. Looking forward to this motivation continuing as I work towards my next PB

  • Local running news done right

Great content so far - keep it up! Love hearing about local running routes, news and upcoming races.

Would give 6 stars if “Time Warp” was the intro music, but probably not in the budget (yet). Could be a good name for a segment though…

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 109 | Lactate Threshold Testing with Zander Mostert & Raf Baugh | State 1500m, Shizuoka Mara & Herdys Preview
Q: Can you talk us through the difference between threshold, LT1, LT2 and tempo?
LT1 (tempo) marks the first threshold where lactate begins to rise more noticeably; LT2 marks the second threshold with a rapid rise in lactate as buffering and recycling become limited. Tempo is a sustainable, steady high-intensity state that varies by the individual, while threshold zones guide training windows to push LT1 and LT2 outward.
Episode 108 | Ashul Shah | Chitty Chitty Run Run | Lark Hill Party Ultra
Q: What were the health challenges you faced and how did running help you cope?
Ashul explains autoimmune issues and rheumatoid arthritis, the impact on his life, and how endurance training and strength work, along with medical input, helped him manage health concerns and stay active.
Episode 107 | Andy Carrington | Yaberoo Trail Ultra | Point Walter Run
Q: What has backyard ultra running taught you about life?
Focus on what you can control and respond positively to uncontrollables.
Episode 107 | Andy Carrington | Yaberoo Trail Ultra | Point Walter Run
Q: What does running mean for you?
It's a way to reestablish a network and contributes to personal health and well-being.
Road to the Checkered Bastard Episode 02 | Going the Distance Seminar (Live Recording) | 2026 Bunbury 3 Waters Running Festival Series
Q: What is the benefit of using fat as fuel compared to carbohydrates?
Fat has a much larger supply in the body but is slower to access compared to carbohydrates.
