Linden explains a lifelong pattern of not giving up, letting each role lead to the next, and emphasizing the goal of adding value for audiences and clients while evolving from music to teaching, public relations, journalism, broadcasting, and finally a focused outdoor media career.
Episode 56: Bird Hunting From Horseback with Matt Fruge
Q: What is your view on the role of cattle in maintaining bird habitat?
Cattle are essential; grazing creates the habitat mosaic and ground disturbance that birds need. Without cattle, the biodiversity and edge structure decline, reducing bird hunting opportunities.

Q: What are the key habitat elements that support prairie chickens and other upland birds in your regions?
Early successional habitat with a mix of grasses, forbs, and food sources; disturbance from cattle and fire; and edges created by grazing. Prairie chickens especially require diverse habitat with open understory and nearby cover for escape.
