  • Thoughtful, Expansive, and Deeply Human Conversation

It was a pleasure to join this conversation. The host brought genuine curiosity, presence, and depth to the discussion, creating space to explore medicine, healing, spirituality, and the unknown in a thoughtful and meaningful way. I appreciated the openness and the willingness to engage beyond surface-level health conversations into the deeper questions of what it means to heal and be human. A thoughtful and insightful host.

  • Unusually authentic

This show is unusually authentic. At first I thought it was a bit too strange and now I’m realize how defended I was about this open way of thinking. It’s like being at a campfire with others. You may have to put on your everyday face tomorrow but these brief conversations allow for unusual depth about the human condition. Thank you Jason for following your calling and encouraging us to do the same.

  • Bryan Ardis is kooky

I have to admit I really love this podcast, but this most recent guest is a quack. I know Jason leans into Covid denial in his views, and I’m fine with him expressing his opinions because he gets guests that are kind and humble and though provoking and keep to the topic of plant medicine from a wholistic standpoint, but Bryan Ardis is a fraudulent blowhard who peddles Qanon quackery and is a chiropractor, not a medical doctor. As soon as he insisted he be called Dr. Ardis by Jason, I couldn’t ta... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 194 - Robert Gourlay - Structured Water and the Energy of Life
Q: What is water, where does it come from?
Water originates from geological processes and carries deep energy and intelligence; it can hold a negative charge in pristine forms and through magnetism, which the guest links to cellular function.
Ep. 192 - Paul Austin - Psychedelics, Religion, & Micro-dosing
Q: What is the role of the facilitator in shaping the outcome of a psychedelic experience?
The facilitator should provide space and neutrality, avoid forcing a direction, and help the participant integrate the experience by supporting personal meaning and choices rather than pushing a specific interpretation or outcome.
Ep. 192 - Paul Austin - Psychedelics, Religion, & Micro-dosing
Q: Could you speak a little more about how psychedelics might act as an antidote to nihilism and how spiritual context affects their use?
Psychedelics can broaden one's sense of meaning beyond a purely material or atheistic view, especially when users have a cultural or spiritual framework that supports integration of the experience. The impact depends on context, preparation, and the presence of a supportive facilitator who honors the person's background and belief system.
Ep. 191 - Dr. Kelly McCann - Integrative/Environmental Medicine & Unforgetting
Q: What role does the mind-body-spirit connection play in healing chronic illness, and how do you address this in your clinic?
The mind-body-spirit connection is central; illness is viewed as a signal from the body inviting alignment of the whole self. In practice, I guide patients through reflective work, emotional processing, and spiritual alignment alongside medical treatment, creating a container where patients feel seen and supported, which often accelerates recovery.
Ep. 191 - Dr. Kelly McCann - Integrative/Environmental Medicine & Unforgetting
Q: Can you explain the difference between functional medicine and integrative medicine in your practice?
Functional medicine focuses on how genetics, metabolism, and specific tests map onto biochemical pathways to create a personalized plan, while integrative medicine emphasizes incorporating additional modalities like nutrition, mindfulness, and energy-based practices to support overall healing, with functional medicine providing a deeper biochemical framework.
