  • I hope this is better than the Adelson pod

I was looking for pods on Alex Murdaugh now that there’s new stuff going on. I used to listen to the one you did about the Adelsons. I stopped when you kept bringing that social worker on like she was a psychologist or criminal profiler. The woman didn’t even know the stages of grief described by Kubler-Ross which is just basic for anyone in healthcare. I just couldn’t anymore. Please don’t bring circles in and try to convince the listeners they’re octagons with this pod.

  • Repetitive Scripts

Are the episode scripts written by ChatGPT? They're repetitive and banal, and that's before you get to the repeated ads. Unlistenable.

  • Murdaugh

Regarding Murdaugh, host says Southern Carolina Supreme Court. Mispronounces defense lawyer’s name but yeah he *followed* the trial. Numerous other instances. Yikes.

  • Allegedly…?

Why do you keep saying Alex “allegedly” committed financial crimes? He’s been convicted. Under the law, the allegations are now deemed true.

Murdaugh Retrial: What the Defense and Prosecution Are Really After
Q: What impact will the Supreme Court's ruling have on how the retrial is conducted and what narratives are permissible?
It will constrain the defense from presenting the same sweeping narrative as in the first trial and push for a tighter, more focused presentation of fraud-like or financial-motive elements, with a stronger emphasis on a plausible, narrower theory of the crime.
Does Eric Bland Think the Murdaugh Retrial Changes Everything for Stephen Smith?
Q: What was the first reaction when you learned about the retrial?
Bland says he expected retrial but was particularly struck by the appellate arguments and the court's stance against the previous judge's handling of financial-crimes evidence, signaling a changed landscape for Round 2.
What Creighton Waters Can No Longer Say to the Murdaugh Jury
Q: Can they educate the jury about a concept like a family annihilator?
Yes, but it would likely require an expert to educate the jury, and the judge must determine that the expert input would be helpful, ensuring it's not overwhelming or alienating for jurors.
What Creighton Waters Can No Longer Say to the Murdaugh Jury
Q: How much of the original motive and financial crime narrative should be retained in the retrial?
The motive narrative should be trimmed to a more concise, better-supported core, with the financial-crime elements shortened or integrated in a way that avoids fatigue and maintains juror engagement.
What Creighton Waters Can No Longer Say to the Murdaugh Jury
Q: What happens if witnesses' testimony doesn't line up with what they said the first time?
The defense can challenge inconsistencies through impeachment, using transcripts to show what was said under oath, but the impeachment must be substantive and tied to changes in testimony rather than minor phrasing.
