  • Progressive Approved

This progressive respects Woods a lot for staying principled to his beliefs—more than to Trump or any other man. Principled libertarians are respectable even though they’re wrong 50-70% of the time.

  • Love this podcast, not a fan of Kevin Duffy. When asked about intellectual property, he deflected and said how he doesn't belive in it. We'll I do, and that comment doesn't draw me in. He basically talked for an hour how the terrifs with China are a bad idea because he said so. Only one of his arguments was backed with data, all of the other arguments are correct because he said so. Terrible interview which had me ready to turn off after 10 minutes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 2704 The Errors of Christian Zionism
Q: How do you respond to the Christian Zionist position?
I would ask them to show me in the scriptures that this is actually clear, because while they claim to rely on a very literalist interpretation of the Old Testament, it actually, what's going on is they're picking, cobbling together verses, forcing them into a Christian Zionist view of things.
Ep. 2702 Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, and MAGA: What's Going On?
Q: What's your opinion about the attacks on Thomas Massie and Rand Paul?
They're both smart defenders of the president when he does the right thing. But they can't be yes men, and I find it personal for Trump, which is a big problem.
Ep. 2702 Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, and MAGA: What's Going On?
Q: What's your take on the No Kings protest?
It's all of that and more, and it's very funny. I can't talk about this without smiling or laughing a little bit. It's so silly that to any outsider who observed American politics in recent times for more than 10 seconds, how stupid this thing was.
Ep. 2699 Seven Bad Arguments for the State
Q: How should we address the insecurity in a capitalist society?
It's better to be poor in a market-oriented society because it generates more wealth and opportunities to support impoverished individuals than in a less capitalist society.
Ep. 2699 Seven Bad Arguments for the State
Q: How did programs like food stamps and social security weaken civil society?
The welfare state accustoms people to dependence, eroding personal dignity and self-reliance that were foundational to civil society.
