  • Warning: You will get addicted

Having subscribed to this podcast almost a year ago, I somehow only listened to my first episode this past spring while hiking through the forest trails of Quebec — and it’s now become my go-to podcast whenever I’m outdoors. The creators’ passion for their craft is incredibly infectious, and their ability to navigate a wide variety of dialects further immerses the listener, from Martin’s Newfoundland patois to Eleanor’s Confederate drawl, to name but a few. The only negative aspect I can think o... more

  • The most wholesome companion

I cannot begin to explain the love I have for this podcast. It exploded into my life about a year ago and I’m just at the end of my first lap of the countries. You’ve been my companion through long long drives and longer still walks to try and get the kids off to bed.

It’s an incredible sense of community to listen and my life is enriched no end for my spooky companions.

    Thank you, without end.

  • Lots of Promise

I’m only on my third episode but I heard about this podcast on How Haunted which is another podcast I really enjoy. I like supporting the creators who don’t have a big organisation behind them and are making episodes about a subject they have a real passion and enthusiasm for. I love podcasts that are keeping our local community legends and folklore alive and hopefully packaging these stories in a way that makes them accessible to the younger generations. I like the format of making each episode... more

  • Absolutely fantastic podcast!

This is such a brilliant podcast series. I think I have more or less caught up now. I love the chat, humour, local history and the folklore. I particularly like the special ones concentrating on a particular theme. And it’s so nice Martin and Eleanor recommend similar shows even though I think their’s is hard to beat! I have learnt so much. Have recommended to my friends and family on social media, bought the book, trying to decide which T shirt to buy and hopefully meet them in a London bookst... more

  • love this podcast!

we’re both 20 year olds from devon and currently travelling europe, listening to your episodes about dartmoor folklore made us feel at home! we’ve loved being able to identify places and stories we recognise from our local area where we like to go on dog walks, your retellings of them really bring them to life :) - p.s. we agree with eleanor that jam goes before cream on scones even though we’re from devon
